When you are feeling down…

We all have those days where we are feeling very down, sad and just depressed. I have been having them a lot more recently the past few years and I still struggle with how to really get out of it; however, I always have a few things that I like to do to improve my mood.

  • Spend some time alone.
  • Spend time with family and/or friends.
  • Read a book.
  • Watch a movie.
  • Exercise
  • Get some fresh air.
  • Take a nice long bath.
  • Take a nap.
  • Write down your feelings.

5 Blessings in my life…

My blog post that I upload yesterday was a fairly sad one, so I today I wanted to share 5 things that I am blessed with.

  1. My husband – he’s my everything and I cannot imagine life without him.
  2. My family – this whole safe at home situation has brought us all so much more closer and I’m forever thankful for it.
  3. My baby girl Daisy – we recently got a toy maltipoo puppy less than 2 weeks ago named Daisy and I am so obsessed with her and feel so blessed to have her in our lives.
  4. My health – yes I have some health and hormone issues but I feel blessed that it is not much worse.
  5. My job – I know so many people have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and I feel thankful that I still have a job and am still working.

What are some things you are thankful/blessed for?

Struggling to be positive.

I feel like the past few years I have become such a negative person and I hate it. I have been struggling with trying to change that about myself because I really don’t like it. I miss being so happy and positive and full of self esteem. Right now, I’m constantly thinking so negative about myself, and everyone around me….it’s so bad! I have been trying very hard the past few weeks to try and be better but its been hard. I have considered maybe going to therapy and so I’m debating about it because part of me thinks that maybe that will help.

Places I want to visit…

I don’t know about you, but I am already picturing going somewhere tropical for my next vacation when life is back to normal. There are a few places that I really want to visit and hopefully I can within the next 5 years. Costa Rica was a place my husband really wanted to visit and so we did…twice because we completely fell in love with the country. Now the places I really want to visit are:

  • Hawaii
  • Santorini, Greece
  • New York
  • Walt Disney World in Florida.

My husband and I wanted to plan a trip to New York for this year but thankfully we never got the tickets or anything, since I doubt any traveling will be happening anytime soon. Fingers crossed we can visit one of those places sometime next year.

Places I have been…

I absolutely love to travel, and experience different places, especially with my husband. We sometimes randomly will decided to leave for the weekend and will either drive to Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Diego or even to Las Vegas sometimes. But my favorite place that we have ever been too is Costa Rica. We first went there in September of 2017 then decided to go back again but to a different area in Costa Rica in September of 2019.

Our first trip there, we ended up staying at Riu Guanacaste which is all inclusive resort. We really enjoyed our stay there but our favorite place was by far Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica which was also an all inclusive resort. It was over an hour drive to get there from the airport but it was so worth it. It is kinda hidden so that was so nice. This last time that we went, there was barely people there so it was nice to have the pool pretty empty and all to our selves pretty much minus like 10 other people at that time. We like to travel when it is off season so it’s not so crowded.

Here is a combination of both of our Costa Rica trips! Also my husband and I use to have our own photography instagram and you’ll see our logo on there, that instagram has now been changed to my own personal photography page if you want to follow, its suziebeephotos.

My day as a nanny…

Being a nanny is so rewarding and amazing; but it can also be kinda hard. It is a lot of responsibility and it requires a TON of patients. I currently work for a family that has two adorable little girls ages 4 and almost 6. My day to day looks so different now while we are going through this COVID-19 situation than when life was “normal,” believe it or not right now it is more exhausting than ever before. I come home so so tired everyday and barely have any energy left to do anything else. I wanted to share what a typical day as a nanny is like (at least for me.)

8am – arrive at work

8am to 9:30 am – get girls dressed and feed them breakfast.

9:30 am to 10 am- oldest one has online zoom session and youngest will play with toys.

10 am – 10:40 – we either go for a walk around the neighborhood or we will play in the backyard.

10:45 to 10:55 am – snack time

11 am – 1pm – zoom class for both girls and then homework for the older one.

1pm – lunch

2 pm to 3:30 – outside play time; sometimes we will go swimming if its hot and sometimes we will even do Zumba class, or yoga class that I find on YouTube.

3:30 to 4 pm – iPad or show time

4 to 5 pm – bath time for girls.

5pm – I’m off!

This is what my day usually looks like now. I do work more hours usually (7:30am to 6pm) but since mom is working from home I’m get 1.5 hours less a day right now.

My 3 healthy habits.

I have been training myself and my body to slowly incorporate healthy habits into my everyday life. It isn’t always easy as I forget or get busy sometimes but I really do try for the most part. I wanted to share 3 healthy habits that I’m working on currently and 3 that I would love to add soon.

Healthy habits I’m currently working on:

  1. Walking more.
  2. Limiting only 1 to 2 cups of coffee intake per day.
  3. Complaining less & appreciating more.

Healthy habits I want to add:

  1. Drink more water.
  2. Eat healthier.
  3. Be more positive.

What are some of your healthy habits?

skin care

My skin care routine…

Believe it or not, I rather spend a ton of money on skin care than make up… I know I know, what kind of a lady am I? haha I barely wear any make up, in fact my day to day make up is only 2 products that all, so I try to focus and care for my skin a lot. Except for the past few weeks, I have been so off my skin care routine it’s so bad. I usually now will wash my face at night to get rid of all the dirty and junk and just moisturize and go to school and for mornings I will splash water on my face and again add SPF moisturizer and go on about my day. However, on the days that I’m really good, this is what my skin care would be like:

  1. Cleanser:  Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash. This is my absolute favorite face wash ever.
  2. Toner:  Origins United States balancing tonic. This really helps my skin clear up and get rid of acne.
  3. Serum: Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins mega-bright dark spot correcting serum. This serum is so expensive but my skin loves it!
  4. Eye cream: Murad Essential-C eye cream I just started using this a few months ago and let me tell you I am obsessed with it!
  5. Vitamin C Serum: Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Vitamin C power Serum.  This serum is beyond expensive and I recently got it so I can’t really say how I feel about it yet.
  6. Moisturizer/SPF: Origins A Perfect Work SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea.  One of my favorite SPF moisturizers.

  1. Cleanser:  Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash.
  2. Exfoliating: Fresh Sugar strawberry exfoliating face wash.
  3. Toner:  Origins United States balancing tonic.
  4. Serum: Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins mega-bright dark spot correcting serum.
  5. Eye Cream: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye cream
  6. Face Oil: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
  7. Moisturizer: Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Power Night cream.

I told you, I was not kidding about spending my money more on skin care, I use kinda pricey products but only because it works on my skin. I have tried some drug stored ones or cheaper ones and my skin just doesn’t take it too well; so I stick to these.

5 books on my nightstand.

I love to read and most of the time I either read on my phone through iBook, iPad or I’ll read an actual book. I always like to keep a few books on my nightstand to read if I just don’t want to use my phone or iPad. Here are 5 books that I like to have on my nightstand, 5 of them I have not read fully, and 1 I have fully read (Strong looks better Naked by Khloe Kardashian) which I wrote about in yesterday’s blog post but love to keep it near my bed incase I want to reread it again for motivation.

  1. The recipe box by Viola Shipman
  2. You are a badass by Jen Sincero
  3. Girl, wash your face by Rachel Hollis
  4. Kind is the new classy by Candace Cameron Bure
  5. The subtle art of not giving a fuck! by Mark Manson

A book that has inspired me…

A while back I was kinda obsessed with Khloe Kardashian and got her book “Strong looks better naked,” and loved it. It inspired and motivated me to work out, work on my health, my body and to just put myself first. I remember I was on my fitness and healthy lifestyle journey for a good few months after reading that book and then I fell off the wagon. Since then I haven’t really picked up the book again, or maybe I did once after that but only read a few chapters only. I think I will pick it up again and reread it to see if it will again give me that motivation that inspiration to get myself back on track since I have been so off since this whole coronavirus started.

What is one book that has inspired you???
