75 Hard Challenge…

A week ago I decided that I was going to take my weight loss seriously and started fasting and I did great, I lost almost 2 pounds in one week! I have heard about 75 hard from a friend of mine when it first came out last year. Back then I was like I can’t do this, it’s too much work for me and so I never tried. However, I was listening to Andy Friesland who came up with this challenge and something clicked in me that this is what I have to try and do. So I started 75 hard just yesterday, Saturday August 29, 2020 weighing at 293.0 lbs.

The diet I am following is obviously intermittent fasting and cutting down on carbs and sugar by 50% as those are my addictions. I am doing 2 work outs one of course is outside. You have to read nonfiction/self development books during this challenge so I am currently reading “Girl, wash your face” by Rachel Hollis. I am drinking my gallon of water which has been the most challenging part for me and am also taking progress photos every single day! Here’s the thing with this challenge though, if you mess up or forget to do one of these things or don’t fully complete them for one day, you have to start from day 1 all over again!

To be quite honest, I really don’t know if I will be able to complete this everyday for the next 75 days but I am willing to try my very hardest! I really hope I can finish it though and see big changes in me, physically and mentally!

Have you heard of 75 hard? Have you done it?

Self Care Sunday: Alone Time

Alone time is something I use to take for granted and not appreciate…up until a year or so ago. I’m a nanny so I’m always taking care of and looking after kids, when I get off work, I come home to my husband; I hardly ever take time for myself now a days. My husband and I decided that once a month maybe even twice a month to take a break, meaning he will go on a solo adventure or out with his friends for the day while I stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet. I rather be home then be out. This is not only beneficial for me but also for our relationship.

I wanted to share a few benefits of why alone time is so necessary for us.

  • Great way to recharge.
  • Helps clear your mind.
  • Improves your creativity.
  • Reconnecting with yourself.
  • Helps your become more focused.
  • You gain self-confidence.
  • Learn to be more indpenedent.
  • Helps reset your priorities.
  • Gives you an opportunity to plan your life.

I would love to know, how many times. a week or even a month do you get alone time? What do you do?

Self Care Sunday: Hydration

I don’t know about you, but I am really bad about taking care of myself. I’m a nanny and a wife and I tend to care for others constantly and never really put myself first. I want to work on that, work on self care more often; therefore, I decided that I would love to do a self care Sunday blog post to share what I’m adding to my self care on a weekly basis. For this blog post, I will be focusing on hydrating. I know I need to drink about half my weight in oz of water and I well I suck at doing that. I am better about drinking more water than I use too, however, I still need to be drinking more.

About 60% of our bodies are made up of water and so I want to share 10 benefits of drinking water with you:

  1. Gives you more energy.
  2. Helps you sleep better.
  3. Clears up skin.
  4. Aids in weight loss.
  5. Flushes body waste.
  6. Improves brain function.
  7. Fewer headaches.
  8. Helps digestion.
  9. Fights bloating.
  10. Maintains the balance of body fluids.

I will be challenging myself to drink AT LEAST a gallon of water a day but will try to aim for at least 145 oz of water. I would love for some of you to join me in drinking a gallon of water for a week and hopefully keep it going after that as well.

July challenge update…

Happy August! Can you believe it’s already August? Where has the time gone seriously? The months are just flying on by in a blink of an eye! Yesterday was my birthday and my first goal was to reach 275 by my birthday but then changed my goal to 265 to 270. I sadly didn’t reach my second goal but I did reach my first one, I weighed myself yesterday morning and was 274.4. Woohoo! At least I was lower then I wanted my first goal to be!

As for my challenge I put myself on, I’m actually doing really good. I have been sticking to it all since I started it almost 2 weeks ago! I’ve been working out every single day even the days I’m extremely tired and or lazy; I try to just do something for 30 minutes rather then just laying my ass in bed!

The first week I had so much energy and this week I have just been so tired and lazy but I force myself to go! I feel like if I skip a day, I’ll just give up on my challenge slowly! For example like today, I went to Disneyland with the little girl I nanny for and we all know Disneyland is exhausting but I forced myself to go to the gym afterwards at 9:30pm (straight from work to the gym) and worked out for 45 minutes! I’m beyond exhausted right now and it’s already 11:30 pm but I wanted to write this down since it is the 1st of the month!

I’m really hoping I can fully stick to this challenge of working out everyday, reading everyday, fasting and drinking a lot more water daily the rest of the month like I challenged myself to do. I also am really hoping that I’ll be 265 or less by the end of August…fingers crossed!
